This coming summer months, there’s nothing better to cool off than to take a dip in the clear waters of Palawan.
I had been to Puerto Princesa, El Nido, and Coron. If I were asked where I’d like to go back to the most, I would say it would be Coron!
Not only does Coron have the perfect white sand beaches of El Nido, it also has excellent dive sites, freshwater lakes, and uninhabited islets where you can have a picnic or just to chill in for a few hours. Truly, for me, Coron offers more variety of things to do than other places in Palawan.
For more savings, pre-book your Coron tours here via Klook!
If you’re planning to go there, here are my recommended places to stay in Coron. The rates indicated here are based on low season rates and may be changed by the hotels any time. Prices may also vary based on mid- and high-peak seasons. (Note: US$1 = PhP43)
Luis Bay Travellers Lodge
Luis Bay Travellers Lodge is one of the cheapest and most practical hotels you can stay in. Price starts from PhP400 for fan rooms up to PhP1,065 for air-conditioned rooms (good for 2).
If traveling by group, they have the Malcapuya room (good for 5) at PhP2,049 only. Since you’ll be out and about the whole day on tours, you can expect not bad but comfortable enough beds in this hotel.
The best thing about Luis Bay Travellers Lodge is its location. It is near the port where the boats for island hopping are docked and since it is right in the middle of town, it is very close to the market.
If you want to grab a drink, it is cheaper here than buying from a convenience store. This hotel is best for budget travelers.
Coron Paradise Bed and Breakfast
I had stayed at Coron Paradise for three nights, and it made for a really comfortable stay in Coron. It’s a ten-minute walk to the center, so while it’s out of the chaos, it remains accessible. Their rooms start at PhP1,100 for singles, with breakfast.
What I liked best about Coron Paradise was their fast WiFi connection (which is free) and the fact that they have a generator. Power interruptions are common in Coron, and having a backup power source is definitely an advantage.
Sea Horse Guest House
Sea Horse Guest House is a newly-opened hotel that offers tours, airport transfer, 24-hour front desk, bar, and room service at an affordable price. Their bestseller room is their dormitory that starts at PhP614 per bed (with breakfast!).
It’s near the main road, and so is an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and dive centers. It would only take you a two-minute walk to the market.
What is unique with Sea Horse Guest House is their rooftop where you can enjoy amazing views of Coron town. They also have a decent Wifi connection, and each table on the rooftop has an AC plug that is best for travelers with their partner-devices or for those traveling on business.
The free breakfast can be served in the room, too, and there is also free-flowing coffee and tea service for all guests to enjoy.
Coron Village Lodge
Coron Village Lodge is only a seven-minute walk from the town center. Their double bed room with kitchenette starts at PhP1,434 per night; their triple bed room with kitchenettes starts at PhP1, 622 per night; and their furnished 2-bedroom apartment (good for up to 6) starts at PhP3,426 per night.
All rooms are air-conditioned and have a terrace/balcony.
Marley’s Guesthouse
Marley’s Guesthouse offers ethnic ambiance at a very affordable price. Budget travelers who are not after the extravagance of a place to stay will appreciate the standard double room with fan that Marley’s offers at PhP600.
There is a shared lounge/TV area, kitchen, and smoking area where you can socialize with other guests from all over the world. Marley’s Guesthouse also has BBQ facilities and wake-up service.
Coron Eco Lodge
Coron Eco Lodge is a good choice for all travelers. It is near the port area, the public market, restaurants and the famous Mt. Tapyas. Double standard rooms come with TV with cable channels, hot and cold shower, ironing facilities and air-conditioning (PhP1,540/night).
Some nice facilities at the Eco Lodge include lockers, concierge, luggage storage, safety deposit boxes, laundry service, and shuttle service to and from the airport.
Coron Eco Lodge also has working generators for the rotational blackouts.
Kokosnuss Garden Resort
Kokosnuss Garden Resort offers relaxing rooms, a garden, and delicious food offered in their restaurant. Each room has a private garden area; their bestseller room (Cave Room good for 2) comes with a fan only, and starts at PhP1,553.
If you wish to get a room with air-conditioning, you can either choose the small bungalow room (good for 2) at PhP1,946 or the large bungalow room at PhP2,239. All rooms are equipped with TV with cable channels and hot and cold shower. If you’re traveling with more friends, they also have a room with air-conditioning (good for 3 or more) and hot and cold shower but without TV with cable channels.
The hotel’s big and spacious garden is just the perfect scenery you would want to come home to after a spectacular adventure around Coron. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings which can add to a more comfortable stay. To top it all off, the quietness of the hotel’s location is just what you need from the noise of the busy city.
Palanca Guest House
Palanca Guest House offers excellent location and staff service. The hotel is near everything, being situated at the heart of the village center (market place). Its rooms are designed for comfort, convenience, and style.
Their bestseller is the Deluxe room (good for 4) at Php2,232 which is equipped with air-conditioning, electric fan, TV with cable channels, hot and cold shower and free WIFI internet access.
Their Family room (good for up to 6) at Php3,750 offers the same facilities but comes with a view of the ocean (partial) which you will enjoy. They also offer massage service.
Coron Gateway Hotel
If you’re up to a wonderful and a luxurious staycation, Coron Gateway Hotel is the best choice. The spacious suites are made to give you the most relaxing stay equipped with their bathtub, mini-fridge, water boiler for coffee/tea, and a safety box. From each room’s private balcony you can get a stunning view of Coron Bay and Coron Harbor Town.
You can choose to stay from their Junior suite (good for 2 or more) which starts at Php3,928 or their Executive suite (good for 2 or more) which starts at Php5,375. Both suites offer air-conditioning, LCD/plasma screen TV with cable channels, separate shower and tub, bathtub, complimentary bottled water, and free WIFI access.
All these are offered by their Presidential suite as well plus a mini-bar, kitchenette, microwave, and seating area. If you’re after an adventure with a touch of extravagance, Coron Getaway Hotel is best to suit your needs!
If you have the time this summer to go out of town, Coron should definitely be at the top of your priority. By choosing any of these places to stay in Coron, you will make your time there all the more memorable.

Thank you soooo much aleah. Im realy thanks fule for all information you post about coron. I have plan to go coron in sep.18 2017 ,, and realy i need this information..
Hello Aleah,
gladly I bumped to your site, napaka helpful ng iyong information, tanong ko lang po if you have idea, regarding some water adventures na pwedend gawin at the same time affordable for solo traveller like me po?kasi last june 2017 I started solo travelling in boracay, at ngayon coron palawan na naman yung gusto puntahan ( planning to have a budget for 8,000 including hotel and water adventures siguro kahit mga 2 or adventures ok na). Hope you can give me some suggestions.Thank you po and God bless.
Hi! Do you know a not so expensive hotel that offers 24-hour electricity? I’ve been there a few years back and gaahd my brother had an asthma attack after eating in the dark. The power just went off. We stayed there for 5 days
Check out Coron Paradise (link above). They have a generator. 🙂
Hi. Do you suggest booking a place to stay in Coron ahead or is it ok to just find a place once we get there? I am wondering about what if our flight gets cancelled or delayed, which always happens in the Philippines. Then i would have paid for a night that i did not use our booked room.
It depends on the season I guess. If it’s peak season, you definitely have to book ahead. If it’s not, then it’s ok to shop around there. Still, I would recommend booking one night’s stay so at least you’ll have a place to stay when you arrive.
bat ang mahal ng luis nung tinignan ko room rates nila? naka ibang language pa
Hi, how safe are your stuff at the hotels around coron when you leave them?
No problem in my experience. For your valuables, don’t leave them lying around. Use the safe.
hello do you have some contact detail for the list of thhotels..thanks and have a good day
I suggest you google them. it may take time before she gets back to you.
Very helpful article! Gusto ko din mag solo travel! 😀 Tanong lng po, magkano po lahat yung expenses nyo sa Coron trip nyo? (without airfare)
Great article! Is there anywhere you recommend to eat?
JJ: Frankly, I found the food in Coron to be expensive. There are lots of restaurants there, but I only tried the one at the market (sorry forgot the name, it’s at the corner of the main road and the road leading to the port area) and one chicken place. If you have a bit of dough, just pick one resto there. Let me know if you find any food gems!
is the internet in coron is really good? and fast? we have pocket wifi do you think it is lte area?
Hi Mike. Internet at the hotel I stayed at was pretty good. No idea about the LTE, but I guess if there’s a signal there, you can also get a connection, right? Do let me know if it works!
Hi, which hotel you stayed at has the best internet connection? Were you able to get at least a 4G signal in Coron? And would you know if Smart or Globe is better? Thanks!
Hi Tin. I stayed in Coron Paradise. Their Wifi was good enough (at that time), and they have their own generator so they’re not affected by load shedding. Smart worked best for me. It’s different in El Nido. In the islands, there was no signal at all. Coron should be fine. When are you going? So envious! I want to snorkel there again or dive!
Hi Aleah, thanks for responding! We actually still haven’t planned our itinerary for our trip haha. We’ll be going there on Sept.1-5. Are there tours that you can recommend? Thanks again!
Nice to see the different places to stay in Coron! I have to try to the other places soon as we were always stuck at the Gateway Hotel. 😉
Michael Angelo
Lots of options now in Coron. I love it!
I’ll keep this bookmarked. Baka mapasubo makauwi rin sa wakas (haven’t been “home” since 1999).
Hope you can go home for a visit someday, The Philippines is calling you. 🙂
