Magical El Nido

El Nido in Palawan, Philippines, is one of those places where time seems to stop, or accelerate, whichever point of view you want to take. We spent three days there, and on one hand, it seemed to end so quickly, but on the other, the moments seemed endless. Einstein could explain better about the relativity of time, but here are some pictures from that magical place.
This was taken in one of the islets off El Nido Bay, Palawan.

The view from a highly-recommended bar and restaurant along the shore at El Nido, called Pukka.
A wonderful view from the hammock!
A banca (small boat) off El Nido bay.

A couple strolling along the beach. I hope I could still travel with my special someone when I’m their age!

This is the Palawan Subterranean River. It is in Sabang, approximately two hours from Puerto Princesa City. Definitely a must to see, although for someone who likes spelunking (like me), the 45-minute boat tour was not enough (the package, including transportation, all the permits, and lunch, amounted to P1500).

How to go to El Nido:

Take Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, or Zest Air to Puerto Princesa City. From there, vans will take you to El Nido. Travel takes 7 hours and will cost you PhP600 one way. One advantage of this is you can go visit the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River before going to El Nido.

Alternatively, you can take the Island Transvoyager aircraft, which goes to El Nido directly.
